On February 17, 2024, we celebrated Black History Month at The Apollo Civic Theater with the premiere of a documentary film about The History of the Sumner-Ramer Memorial School.  Nearly 500 in our community gathered to learn about this cherished school as former students shared their memories. The video was the result of a WV Humanities Media Grant and additonal funding by Macy's and First United Bank obtained by our education committee, who spent seven months collaborating on the end product.  We are proud to share our work with you.
